What is “Bishofit”?

Author: Bishofit – alternative name for magnesium chloride salt – was first discovered and identified by a German chemist Karl G. Bischof. It is the name of a natural mineral which lies deep underground in the form of magnesium chloride salt crystals. It is obtained by dissolving the crystals with water and pumping up the saturated solution. It presents mainly a magnesium chloride water solution (96 %), with the general mineral content of 400-450g/l. “Bishofit” contains most of the essential chemical elements of the Periodic Table. The advantage of Bishofit is that it is free from modern-day pollutants due to its ancient origin. Most of the magnesium chloride on the market is produced from sea water.
People have known about the healing properties of Bishofit for a long time and have been using it to treat muscle cramps, aches and pains, to calm nerves, relax, etc. It is widely used in balneology due to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lumbago, and other conditions of the Musculo-skeletal and Nervous systems.
